More Marie Claire Maison
Again… I’m fascinated with the bit-o-red. Maire Claire Maison. And also love the home below… I would kill for a fireplace like that!

Not sure why all of a sudden I’m into bits of red here and there (maybe Valentine’s Day?), but I love this home from Marie Claire Maison. I also adore that blanket!
A bit on the country side, but still thought her pictures were nice and cozy. Inspiration by Mari Eriksson…
I’m looking forward to this weekend… it’s been an exhausting week. First we bought a car after ours bit the dust (we’re a one car family). Then my grandma passed away (today would have been her 92nd birthday!), which was good in that she’s no longer suffering, but sad nonetheless. She was the artist in the family—painting, drawing, china-painting, and I have great memories of bringing my sketchbook over to her apartment and sitting and drawing with her. Miss you grandma.
I love, love Amy Butler’s studio. White walls, old wooden floors, well-worn objects, what’s not to love. I’m interested to check out her new book Midwest Modern, both because I love her studio space and her fabrics (me being in the Midwest is just a bonus… I’m not sure how, but I feel somehow it is). :)
Some pretty, cozy kitchens to keep me motivated… I can officially say I am partial to spaces that feel well-worn and lived in.
We’re moving pretty fast with the house, but I’m sure things will slow down over the holidays. Nathan’s moving into a new studio/office, so we’ll probably be painting that this week, but soon enough we’ll be tackling the kitchen, the back stairs (hey Rob, WWSFD?) and finish putting up all the woodwork in the house.
I want to paint the kitchen a pale gray-brown, and then get shelves to go all the way across, with some white subway tile underneath… hide some wires, install some lighting, presto… finished kitchen!
