I Want That…
Oh thank you to decor8 for her Etsy Take Five Tuesdays, and for finding these, from the mincing mockingbird:
I want them SO BADLY!
Savannah
I just saw that Domino wrote a little something about Savannah, which is one of my favorite places to visit (and not just because my sister lives there)! It’s a really great place to see, if not for the squares, for the cool, independent shops and galleries.
They recommended some really good places, but they didn’t mention my all-time favorite, Back in the Day Bakery (don’t judge the place by their website). LOVE that place! Love. It. SCAD artwork and crafts (the good kind) are sold there too, and their furnishings are all old, retro finds. Can’t beat the banana pudding and the lavender cookies. Mmm.
House Update
They’re back… saw, compressor, and nail gun all stopped by to say hello this evening. They were kind enough to bring dust along… a good time was had by all. :)
There’s a gap in the floor where a masonry wall used to be… we’re thinking about cutting back the boards so they are even on either side and putting in a dark wood… maybe walnut? Can’t tell if that would be a terrible idea, or a good one—straddles the line.
Bright and White
I vow to move beyond white and bright colors, but for right now I’m trying to catch up after getting back from Chicago… found these from photographer Bjarni B. Jacobsen & Anette Eckmann via Pure Public:
Inside Out Magazine
To fuel my obsession with homes of artists, designers and photographers, from Inside Out magazine…
All of these are styled by Elodie Rambaud, and the bottom two are photographed by Nick Bowers. I wish the magazine kept an online gallery because the one issue I picked up is full of great stuff!
Happy Weekend… I’m off to Chicago!
More Marie Claire Maison
Again… I’m fascinated with the bit-o-red. Maire Claire Maison. And also love the home below… I would kill for a fireplace like that!
The Green Chair
This chair belonged to our neighbors… until they ever so kindly gave it to us after years of me expressing how much I love it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Most people would probably have it upholstered, but I love the rips and tears and have no intention of ever fixing it up. I love old things too much… so much character!
More Red
Not sure why all of a sudden I’m into bits of red here and there (maybe Valentine’s Day?), but I love this home from Marie Claire Maison. I also adore that blanket!
