Buyers Remorse

I suffer from a severe and debilitating disease called buyers remorse. I also suffer from the sister-disease of order-remorse, but I’ve learned to live with it and it is far less draining to deal with on a daily basis since it really only comes out in restaurants (”I’ll have the Crab Cake Sandwich please.” I really wanted the Tilapia Reuben. Happened just yesterday. Should have ordered the Reuben, don’t know why I didn’t.). Anyway, today I ordered fabric for the Christmas gifts I want to make, and my anxiety is starting to fester, but I’m still a little excited about buying some Amy Butler fabric that I’ve been wanting for sometime now!

Here are my two choices:

On another note, Nathan finally hung the closet door downstairs. That is VERY exciting news! I’ve learned to live with not having closet doors, or really a bedroom closet for that matter, but I have always hated that anytime someone comes over, they see all of our stuff falling out of the closet… currently in the downstairs closet we have coats, a candle (in the case of an outage), gloves and such, a basket with dog toys, a rug we bought on sale and hated the second we brought home, vacuum bags, a tennis racket, tension rods for curtains, an Ikea stool, and loads and loads tools. And now, it can all be hidden with closing the door!

I Want That

White Forest Pottery hot cocoa mugs… aren’t they beautiful? If I were rich I’d buy five or six or seven… and an iPhone.

Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts! Lacy Crochet and Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts! Amigurumi… which aren’t even released yet in the US. I don’t even know how to crochet (yet), but I’m interested after seeing these!

If I Could be a Room…

Or really if I could be IN a room…

I would regularly complain to Nathan that the house isn’t warm enough, to which he would roll his eyes and throw up his hands. But I meant it, and looking at insulation coming out from the sides of windows, seeing drywall edges that need trim, light bulbs hanging from the ceiling, spending money on the house rather than the interior, all made me feel like the house was more of a building than a home. A warm home. So I would spend my days scouring the internet for photos of “warm” places I’d rather be in (I didn’t have to go much further than desire to inspire), and here are some of my favorites.

And Living Etc.

Free!

I just read that Amy Butler is offering free patterns online! Hooray! I don’t have any fabric… or a place to sew, but the lavender bags would be a great Christmas gift!

I was going to make little bags for mugs and tea, but lavender seems much better.

Again

Rehabbing has been wonderful, but it has also been one of the hardest things I’ve done to date. With a solid five years behind us, we are *almost* finished with the house and I’m looking forward to life-minus-rehabbing and to finding new things to inspire me. Actually, we still have a good ways before we are done, but Nathan has graciously forbidden me from working on the house as long as it means happy-wife stays among the living.
