Pins

Photos by Mette Helena Rasmussen via things i like, things i love

I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest and to this minute I’m still not sure how I feel about it.  Honestly one second I like it and love that it’s a really easy way to organize photos I find, especially when I want to quickly reference them later on. On the flip side I feel conflicted about all the pins and repins losing photographer credits along the way—I am still up in the air about using photos from photographers, even with crediting them and linking to their site.  I have talked about it to great lengths with three of my photographer friends and I still don’t know how I feel about it (for the record, all three said the same thing—giving credit and linking to their site, if they have one, is great).

Either way, Pinterest is very easy to use, has a pretty good iPhone app (not perfect but pretty good), and remains on my list of things I’m trying out (much like twitter where I was a late adopter but really love it!)… and now that that’s out of the way, here are a few of my pins from this week.

The below photos I’ve seen before (Domino Magazine maybe?) and are two that I have always loved. Sheepskin throws?  Even after being a vegetarian for seven years (I eat meat now), I still want some.  Really want.

How do your photographer friends feel about Pinterest’s TOS? That’s the part I have a problem with, much more so than the potential for lost credit.

Hmm… I don’t know, I’ll have to ask! What part of their terms do you have a problem with, just curious?

Thank you for this post! I just started using Pinterest this weekend and love it…but I need to be better about remembering to credit the photographer. I don’t really use my pins for my blog, but if I do I will give some cred!

I just love how easy it is to save pictures and products for later memory-jogging. Especially with the new place to spruce up…need all the inspiration I can get!!

Hi! Thanks for linking to me. I have trouble with Pinterest because of the loss of credit. I think tumblr is just as sketchy. But I do look at both for inspiration. I get so frustrated if I can’t get back to the original source. I also really feel conflicted about using photographer photos without asking them. I did have a pin of mine removed not long ago, which confirmed to me that there are those who create who feel burned. It was from a post that an architect put on Houzz, her shots of a kitchen nook with a Cherner chair in it. I would have thought she liked the “exposure” (only because my pin linked directly back to her houzz post), but she did not. Love this post.

to the woman to the guests. In-fact, within this brief timeframe, you may even neglect the stressful day you experienced.

  5. Incredible! This blog looks just like my old one! It’s on a totally different topic but
it has pretty much the same page layout and design. Wonderful choice
    of colors!

  7. Wow! In the end I got a webpage from where I can really obtain useful information concerning my study and knowledge.

  8. Hello there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you
using for this site? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because
I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform.
I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
