Color

I have a fear of color, as is apparent by our house and my wardrobe.  I love color but mostly when used with restraint and as we are finishing up things in the bathroom, I keep thinking about how white it is in there… we need color.  So in response to my phobia, here’s some color-therapy for the week in hopes that this weekend I can slowly start adding just a little bit of color around the house.  Just a wee-bit… easing into the idea ever so slowly.

The top photo is by Damian Russell, while the bottom two are by Earl Carter.  Both are great photographers and I recommend checking them out!  If you really want to see some color, check out Earl Carter’s images sectionbold.

Have a great weekend!

I fear it, too, as in I will get sick of it fast and it will assault me on those days when I just want to be soothed. So I don’t want to have much color in the big, permanent, pricey pieces. I love the pops of yellow in the top photo, and I love that couch. Wow, does that look good… and comfortable. Love coming here! I hope you have a great weekend.

  2. i think that top image has the perfect dash of color. my problem with color isn’t fearing it but rather, not getting sick of it. i need to focus on timeless combinations and stick with them!

  3. Love how they repeated the yellow over and over again in that first photo. Really effective.

  4. I have the same trouble! No matter how much I try to work color into my home, I always end up back with neutrals. What can I say, I like to play it safe! These are gorgeous images though :)
