I feel good. Great actually. But keep in mind that with this whole process I've been up, I've been down, been depressed, ecstatic, and numb. But now anyway, I feel good. Great.
We are not going to make the May 1st deadline, but that's okay... we will be in there soon and that is the most exciting part! The plumbing setback is what it is, a setback. We are paying another plumber to come in an redo the existing type m piping in our walls, and then we will move on with life and forget about it. Not as big of a deal as we originally thought, so things are looking up.
The front door should arrive later this week which is really going to be nice. The front of our house is a bit dismal and this should brighten it up ten fold. Sweet.
Thanks to our wonderful neighbor Tom Tschetter, whom with Nathan started repairing the plaster. It looks amazing and honestly I had no idea it could. There are several factors to consider when calculating why I don't catch on or visualize things like I should, but we won't go into it. Bottom line is I couldn't imagine how beautiful the plaster work could have turned out, and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it did.
Also today we had the old player piano moved from the second floor to the first, which is something we've been worried about for the past few months. The thing is probably from the early 1900's and it is heavy. Heavy. Heavy. Four guys used brute strength to drag it down the stairs (my stomach was in knots, and Nathan was developing an ulcer with each passing second). It made it down and only our front door window broke, but that's why it's so wonderful that our new front doors are coming this week! They were very nice and handled the situation very well. I'd recommend them to anyone (McGuire moving).
Jonah has finished our window stops and the panelling for below the windows. They look AMAZING!! He is a fantastic woodworker and replicated the existing panels perfectly! Thank you, thank you, thank you Jonah!!! I'll be putting pictures up within the week to showcase.
So, what is left you ask? The tapers will come in about two or three weeks, our "second" plumber will be fixing the existing plumbing soon, then we have the front door to install, the cabinets and counters to build/prepare, tile to lay, will need to paint, set all fixtures (plumbing, HVAC, and electrical), finish the floors, and install the windows. After that it's smooth sailing and move-in! There will be tons to do before we can refinance, but one step at a time please.
