1, 2, 3, 4, and on and on and on

I've decided to start a list. We have thrown away our deadline date, as it was too much pressure and just not doable. So, since I need a little somethin' somethin' to keep me going, I'm making a list. And as things get done, they will get crossed off and my happy-meter will increase.

Things to do before move-in:
  • Have plumber fix copper piping.
  • Install front door (to be delivered end of this week, beginning of next week).
  • Finish up drywall that cannot be started until the previously listed are completed.
  • Tapers... and the exciting news of the day is... THEY ARE COMING MONDAY (ahem... or Tuesday)!!!
  • Install doors (interrior).
  • Tile upstairs bathroom.
  • Build and install both bathroom vanities.
  • Paint and prime.
  • Install and prep counters and cabinets for kitchen (we have old metal cabinets from the Habitat store and will need to refinish those, and pick up our counters and prep that, which will be made from tractor trailer flooring... new, but made from mill scraps... very excited about both).
  • Install fixtures... (plumbing, HVAC, electrical).
  • Refinish floors.
  • Put in appliances.
MOVE-IN!!! And then there's more stuff before we can refinance, as in decks with railings, windows, railings on our stairs, and risers, treads, and railings on our stairs to the third floor. Then there's the refinance, and then there's the projects that will take place to "finish" the house... rebuild the dormers, redo the slate on the front, strip the woodwork upstairs, paint exterior, and on and on and on. We will be tinkering for the next 20 years. I'm excited!!!!
